July 25, 2010 - 2 months away today!

We left Hawaii two months ago today. This is the longest I have been away from home - ever. I'm not homesick, but I am appreciating our stay in Harvey, being in one spot more than overnight and being in a house - a nice house at that - rather than an RV, and meeting Lisa's family.

The landscape in Harvey and at Lisa's brothers is different from what we see in Hawaii and every bit as beautiful and serene. Yesterday, JoAnne and Steve got to have fun on the farm...

Africa Vulnerable Children Project

AFRICA VULNERABLE CHILDREN PROJECT has been feeding and schooling hundreds of children, has dug a well providing clean water, has stabilized roofs, and is currently constructing a medical building; Above and beyond providing basic needs for people, this work has given back some dignity to people who had been forgotten. This work unites us all in humanity. Every dollar donated goes directly to Kantolomba where children are fed while attending school.

The people of southern Africa are faced with life-threatening challenges every day. Among the most severe are HIV/AIDS, malaria, malnutrition, and starvation. Children are especially affected. Even if they themselves do not become sick or die, children are likely to lose one or both parents to disease. Living Compassion is working to improve this situation by providing food and other necessities.
